The Dance Dimension is committed to creative
vision, excellence and artistic integrity.
Students have won awards in the National Arts
Recognition and Talent Search, and the University of
Maryland Kappa Scholars, which award full in-state
scholarships.
Alumni have won the Princess Grace award for most
promising young ballerina in the nation and performed
with prestigious companies such as ABT, Mark Morris,
Kei Takei, Liz Lerman, Merce Cunningham, Stephen
Petronio, and other companies around the country.
As many as eight alumni have created their own dance
companies both in the Baltimore-Washington area and
throughout the U.S. They have achieved acclaim winning
awards for choreographic excellence, and have been
listed in Dance Magazine's Twenty Dance Companies to
Watch in 2000.
